DESCRIPTION
d-Alpha Tocopherol or Vitamin E (Vita-E) is a clear to yellow oil in transparent oval soft gelatin capsule. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin which acts as an antioxidant, preventing oxidative damages.

WHAT IS IN THE MEDICINE?
Each soft gelatin capsule of “Vita-E” contains d-Alpha Tocopherol or Vitamin E , a fat soluble vitamin that prevents the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract is dependent on the presence of bile and on normal pancreatic function. It reacts with free radicals which are the cause of oxidative damage to cell membranes without the formation of another free radical in the process. Deficiency with this Vitamin is rare but develops when the dietary intake is inadequate.

WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR?
Used for treatment and prevention of Vitamin E deficiency and also used as an antioxidant for maintenance and repair of tissues and cells. It is usually given orally, generally the preferred route.

HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?
d-Alpha tocopherol or Vitamin E (Vita-E) 400 IU soft gelatin capsule should be taken once a day or as recommended by a physician.

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE?
d-Alpha Tocopherol (Vita-E) must not be taken if interactions with other drugs or substances are possible; other interacting conditions are present and experiencing adverse reactions like diarrhea, abdominal pain and others while taking this medication.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule, if still needed for the condition being treated. Do not take double dose to make up for the missed one.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE TAKEN MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE?
If overdose is suspected, immediately consult a physician or other health care professionals or contact the nearest hospital.

HOW SHOULD YOU KEEP THIS MEDICINE?
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
