DESCRIPTION
Colecalciferol (Vita D-Max) comes with light yellow to yellow oil in transparent oval soft gelatin capsule

WHAT IS IN THE MEDICINE?
Each soft gelatin capsule of Vita D-Max contains Colecalciferol, also called Vitamin D3, the active form of Vitamin D.
This may have anti-osteoporotic, immunomodulatory, anticarcinogenic, antipsoriatic, antioxidant and mood-modulatory activities. Along with parathyroid hormone & calcitonin, it regulates serum calcium concentration.

WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR?
Colecalciferol or Vitamin D3 is used in the treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency states and hypocalcemia in disorders such as hypoparathyroidism and secondary hyperparathyroidism.

HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?
Take one soft gelatin capsule orally with a glass of water per day or as directed by a doctor.

• A dose of 10 micrograms (400 IU) per day is generally sufficient in adults for the prevention of simple deficiency states. Others recommend 20 micrograms (800 IU) per day to those whose exposure to sunlight is limited; diet is deficient in Vitamin D; and in housebound or institutionalized elderly people.
• Hypocalcemia caused by hypoparathyroidism:

For adults: up to 5 mg (200, 000 IU) per day or as directed by a doctor.

• Deficiency due to malabsorption states or liver diseases:

For adults: up to 1 mg (40,000 IU) per day or as directed by a doctor.

• Nutritional Deficiency:

For adults: 10 mcg (400 units) per day or as directed by a doctor.

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE?

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic or have hypersensitivity to Colecalciferol or Vitamin D3.
• If patients have hypercalcemia and also evidence of vitamin D toxicity.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take double dose.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE TAKEN MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE?
If overdose is suspected, immediately consult a doctor, other healthcare professionals or contact the nearest hospital.

HOW SHOULD YOU KEEP THIS MEDICINE?
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30OC.

Colecalciferol (Vita D-Max) 1000 IU soft gelatin capsule is available in box of 10’s and 30’s (in blister pack of 10’s).
