DESCRIPTION
Orlistat (RedoXfat Plus) comes with size no. 1 capsule with green cap and light-green body.

WHAT IS IN THE MEDICINE?
Orlistat (RedoXfat Plus) helps in the management of obesity together with diet modifications and works by inhibiting the pancreatic lipase, the enzyme that breaks down fat in small intestine. Without this enzyme fat in the diet is excreted undigested and therefore not absorbed by the body. Orlistat is minimally absorbed after oral administration.

WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR?
Orlistat (RedoXfat Plus) is used for the management of obesity together with diet modifications in patients with Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or greater. It may also be used in over-weight patient with a BMI of 27 kg/m2 or more if there are associated risk factors.

HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?
Orlistat is given in a usual dose of 120 mg orally three times daily, immediately before, during or up to 1 hour after meals. If a meal is missed or contains no fat, the dose should be omitted. Orlistat therapy should be stopped if the patient does not lose at least 5% of their body-weight during the first 12 weeks of therapy.

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE?
Orlistat should not be given to patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome or cholestasis and if undesirable interaction/s with other drug ingredients is/are possible. Ask a physician before use if necessary.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule, if still needed for the condition being treated. Do not take double dose to make up for the missed one.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE TAKEN MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE?
If overdose is suspected, immediately consult a physician or other health care professionals or contact the nearest hospital.

HOW SHOULD YOU KEEP THIS MEDICINE?
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

Orlistat (RedoXfat Plus) 120 mg capsule is available in box of 10’s and 30’s (in blister pack of 10’s).
